Last weekend was London Fashion Weekend, a shopping extravaganza I couldn't resist. I am proud to say I stayed close to my budget. :)
My favorite buy was something I had been wanting for over a year; a Katharine Hamnett t-shirt. Katharine Hamnett came onto the scene in the 80s and is still famous for her bold statement tees addressing social and political issues, if you aren't familiar with her I am positive you are familiar with the imitation shirts that come at all price points. Katharine continues to push for ethical and environmental actions in the fashion industry and does so in such a blunt manner you can't help but hear what she is saying.
I before I moved to London I had only heard of her once. And actually it was just because I had seen her shirt once, on Carrie Bradshaw as styled by Patricia Fields in the first Sex and the City movie. Since I moved to London though I have heard and learned so much more about the collections and love the mesh of politics, ethics, and the environment.

Another Katharine Hamnett top, one I thought about buying at London Fashion weekend but I thought the t-shirt was more timeless.
I love over-the-knee socks but because I am 6'2 they leave too much skin out if I wear them with a mini and don't look right with other skirts, unless I wear them with tights, which is what I normally do. This time I thought though, why not jeggings?
You may not be able to see it well in these images, but I am also wearing new tassel earrings made by Pearl and Ivy. They have long tassels that fade from black to pick and at the top have a plate with liberty fabric (a print that happens to match a liberty romper I wear in the summer) I love tassels and big earrings in general, but I have also seen them quiet a bit lately.
